This provides customers with discounts on hotels and activities from partners at rates much lower than those advertised on large sites like Expedia and Agoda.


We think people want experience over things, so we use an experience-oriented marketing strategy to reach users. Urban dwellers often don't have the energy to search for leisure activities on their weekends, despite a strong desire to leave their homes.

With their preference for structured experiences, they often struggle to explore new options and end up feeling unfulfilled, spending their weekends at home.

Discovery Session

During the project kickoff, we conducted a discovery session interview with the project's founder to research and analyze the business objectives, stakeholders' expectations, and user base. The goal was to establish the initial scope, creative direction, and UX approach for the subscription website. We also conceptualized the branding, including the logo, colors, and typography selections.


Throughout the process, there were collaborative discussions with the client and stakeholders to ensure the platform worked efficiently for both customers and partner members. Based on the gathered data, we tailored the user journeys to align with the preferences of Japanese customers who are accustomed to using a ticket-based system for purchasing goods or services.

Define

Our research into current trends and user preferences, combined with the founder's business concept, informed the design of our customer journeys for the travel booking app. Goodie aims to cater to Japanese customers seeking diverse weekend activities by curating exclusive hotel and activity choices. By merging the founder's vision with customer needs, we developed a seamless user experience that provides personalized recommendations and an efficient ticket-based booking system.

Core Flows

Following our discovery sessions, we identified core user flows that form the basis of Goodie's user experience.

We used Invision’s Freehand tool to collaborate and create the core journeys, flows, and wireframes.

Develop

UX Wireframes

We refined the wireframes initially created based on stakeholders' and users' feedback, aiming to create a feed of hotels and experiences similar to Pinterest on both mobile and desktop. An onboarding process was added to onboard new users. The feed displays ticket amounts available for each booking. Booking with the app is similar to booking a hotel, except with a ticket reservation system.

Design System

Prior to developing the user interface and experience of the platform, we conducted a branding exercise to clearly define the brand identity. To ensure consistency and coherence, the design system's tokens have been carefully crafted in accordance with the brand guidelines.

Deliver

High Fidelity Design

The UI screens have been meticulously shaped through previous processes, specifically focusing on onboarding and subscription journeys. These screens play a crucial role in shaping the overall user experience of the Goodie app. Designed with insights from discovery sessions, wireframing iterations, and a comprehensive design system, they ensure a seamless and intuitive interface for users.
